Request for Official Document to "Completely Block Tractor Entry into Downtown"
Regarding the Opposition's Tent Party Office: "Administrative Measures to Be Enforced Without Leniency"
The Struggle Corps under the National Peasants' Federation (Jeonnong) has announced a tractor protest march to Seoul, and amid the Democratic Party setting up a 'tent party office' in Gwanghwamun, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon has declared a strong response policy.
On the 24th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held a countermeasure meeting regarding the Gwanghwamun tent and farmers' tractor protest, stating that "it could pose a threat to citizen safety." Earlier, the Jeon Bong-jun Struggle Corps under Jeonnong reported to the police that they would hold a rally in Seoul on the 25th mobilizing 20 tractors and 50 1-ton trucks, but the police expressed their intention to restrict the march due to concerns over potential clashes.

The city plans to send an official letter to the National Police Agency requesting cooperation to "completely block tractors from entering downtown areas" due to concerns over citizen safety and accidents involving participants in pro- and anti-impeachment rallies. On the same day, Park Hyun-soo, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a press briefing, "The tractor protest itself carries risks," and added, "If the opposing group does not accept this and tries to block it by other means, there is a concern about clashes and traffic disruptions."
In Jongno-gu, the city requested that all possible measures be taken against illegal tents, including imposing compensation fees and fines.
It is reported that Mayor Oh Se-hoon strongly conveyed during a morning meeting that the entry of tractors into Seoul is absolutely unacceptable due to concerns over citizen safety and traffic disruption. He instructed to strongly respond to illegal acts that threaten citizen safety in cooperation with institutions such as the National Police Agency.
Furthermore, Mayor Oh strongly ordered that the city take the lead in enforcing administrative measures without leniency, such as imposing compensation fees and forced removal, in cooperation with the police agency and the relevant district office, stating that no citizen could tolerate a political party illegally occupying pedestrian areas by installing a tent party office in Gwanghwamun.
