Seongbuk-gu, 'Spring Cleaning' on the 26th

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will conduct the "2025 Spring Cleaning Campaign" on the 26th. Although the cleaning campaign will run from the 10th to the 31st of this month, a large-scale simultaneous cleaning will be held in all neighborhoods starting at 7 a.m. on the 26th, designated as the "Spring Cleaning Day."

Seongbuk-gu, 'Spring Cleaning' on the 26th Seungro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, is participating in voluntary cleaning with residents. Provided by Seongbuk-gu.

This cleaning campaign involves various participants including the neighborhood community centers, all departments of Seongbuk-gu, resident autonomous cleaning groups, local residents, Seongbuk-gu Facilities Management Corporation, and Seongbuk Cultural Foundation.

Resident autonomous cleaning will focus on vulnerable areas such as alleys and side streets in each of the 20 neighborhoods within Seongbuk-gu. Not only the resident autonomous cleaning groups but also local residents, district office support departments, the corporation, and the foundation will participate together to thoroughly clean accumulated household waste and illegally discarded garbage in every corner.

Special cleaning of public facilities will target various public infrastructures such as roads, streams, parks, cultural, sports, welfare, health, and transportation facilities. To reduce fine dust during spring, road water cleaning and dust sweeping will be conducted simultaneously. For this purpose, six pedestrian and road water cleaning vehicles and five vacuum suction vehicles will be deployed. The district office plans to promote a culture of continuous cleanliness maintained through resident participation so that this spring cleaning campaign does not become a one-time event.

Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “We hope this will become a culture where residents voluntarily create a clean environment, beyond a simple cleaning campaign,” and added, “We will continue sustainable environmental cleanup activities with residents to make Seongbuk-gu a more pleasant and livable district.”
