Expansion of Support from 5 Companies (5 Months) to 15 Companies (Up to 9 Months)
First-Come, First-Served Applications from March 24 to April 30
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sungho) is set to fully implement the "2025 Smart Safety Management Program Support Project for Resident Companies to Prevent Serious Accidents," aimed at preventing serious industrial accidents and strengthening safety management capabilities for companies.
Since last year, the Authority has been promoting the Smart Safety Management Program Support Project for the prevention of serious accidents among resident companies. The program targets companies with 5 to 100 employees located within the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone.
With the Serious Accident Punishment Act’s scope expanded last year to include workplaces with fewer than 50 employees (but at least 5), the Authority launched the smart safety management program to help resident companies prevent serious accidents. Starting this year, the number of supported companies will be increased from 6 to 15, and the support period will be extended from the previous 5 months to up to 9 months.
Through this project, the Authority plans to help resident companies comply with legal requirements and create a safer working environment, thereby raising the overall level of safety management. Additionally, by minimizing losses from industrial accidents, the Authority aims to help companies establish stable management systems and secure a foundation for sustainable growth.
Main support includes ▲ expert consulting for serious accident prevention ▲ support for smart safety and health management systems ▲ customized labor consulting for each company. Certified labor attorneys from specialized safety and health firms will provide comprehensive, industry-specific support.
Commissioner Park Sungho stated, "Since the implementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, corporate legal responsibilities have been strengthened, making prevention and safety management more important than ever. Through this support project, we will do our utmost to help companies within the zone strengthen their safety and health systems and proactively respond to the prevention of serious accidents."
Detailed information and application methods for the support project can be found in the Notices and Announcements section of the Busan Free Economic Zone Authority website.
