Applications Accepted In Person, by Mail, or Email Until April 30
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju is implementing a road occupancy fee reduction policy to ease the financial burden on local small business owners. The reduction applies to small business owners who have obtained road occupancy permits and are using the occupied area for business vehicle entry and exit.
According to Gwangsan-gu on the 24th, from 2020 to last year, the reduction was applied automatically without an application. However, starting this year, only small business owners who apply will receive a 25% reduction in road occupancy fees. The reduction period will last until December 2026.
Building owners or tenants who possess a small business verification certificate are also eligible for the reduction. Applications can be submitted until April 30. Applicants can download the application form from the Gwangsan-gu website and submit it along with the 'small business verification certificate' to the Construction Administration Team of the Gwangsan-gu Construction Division in person, by mail, or by email.
After the application deadline, Gwangsan-gu will impose the regular road occupancy fees for June and send out notices reflecting the reduction benefits. A Gwangsan-gu official stated, "We hope this reduction policy will provide some relief for small business owners," and added, "We will actively promote the policy so that more small business owners can apply."
