Compensation Plan to Be Announced This Month
Compensation procedures for land and other assets to create 'Suji Central Park' in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, covering a total area of 520,000㎡, will be fully underway this month.
Yongin City announced on the 24th that it will announce the compensation plan from the end of this month and actively proceed with land acquisition to create Suji Central Park. Earlier, on the 14th, the city received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for changes to the public development land reserve project plan for park creation.

With this approval, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), which is acting as the compensation agent, and the city will announce the compensation plan within this month, then proceed with compensation negotiations with landowners starting in July after holding a compensation council meeting and conducting appraisals.
Suji Central Park is a large-scale park to be created on San 179, Sinbong-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, covering an area of 518,047㎡, equivalent to the size of 73 soccer fields. The city plans to invest a total of 5.6 billion KRW to complete the park by 2027.
The park will feature five themed forest trails totaling 4 km in length, including Barefoot Trail, Daengdaeng Forest Trail, Flower Nuri Trail, Solmeong Forest Trail, and Vitality Forest Trail, as well as various exercise, play, and rest spaces for all age groups such as a park golf course and an adventure playground.
Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City, said, "We plan to complete compensation within this year and start construction in the first half of next year," adding, "We will carry out the project smoothly for citizens' healing and health promotion."
