This strategy is a proactive response to market expansion, including the passage of the Offshore Wind Power Special Act and the promotion of the West Coast Energy Highway project. Based on its experience as the only domestic company to have built an ultra-high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission network, LS Cable & System plans to lead the offshore wind power market. The company is expanding its business in various areas, from subsea cable production and construction to supplying key components and maintenance. Furthermore, it aims to maximize synergy effects through organic cooperation with each subsidiary and strengthen its position within the offshore wind power industry.
LS Materials supplies ultracapacitors (UC) for the pitch control systems of wind turbines and is promoting the supply of grid systems essential for stabilizing renewable energy power grids.
Gaon Cable and LS Eco Energy are expanding their subsea cable business and offshore wind power-related investment and operations. Both companies will strengthen subsea cable production and related investments, playing a key role in the core supply chain.
LS Marine Solution is advancing ship operation businesses related to offshore wind power and marine plants. Based on dedicated vessels and construction capabilities, it plans to actively respond to the growing demand for offshore wind power expansion and subsea power grid construction.
An LS Cable & System official stated, "We will strengthen competitiveness across the entire value chain of the offshore wind power industry and expand our eco-friendly energy portfolio."
