The Largest Riverside Park on the Nakdong River, Hwangsan Park...
A Family Healing Festival
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam will hold the ‘2025 Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival’ for two days from the 29th to the 30th at the Munju Square area of Hwangsan Park.
The ‘2025 Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival’ is planned as a family healing festival with a variety of programs for citizens and tourists to participate in, celebrating spring at Hwangsan Park, the largest riverside park along the Nakdong River.
Unlike last year, when the event was held around Jungbu Square, this year’s Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival will be centered around Munju Square.
Upon crossing the Mulgeum Seobu Underpass and entering Munju Square, visitors will first encounter the splendid main stage. Behind the stage, at the Seobu Square parking lot, the ‘Blossom DIY Zone’ will be open, offering hands-on experiences such as making cherry blossom canapes, peppermint cherry blossom sachets, and cherry blossom tattoos. In addition, a photo exhibition titled ‘Mulgeum’s Yesterday and Today’ will showcase the history of the Mulgeum area.
Wide A-frame tent shelters will be set up in the fields around the experience and exhibition booths for visitors to rest out of the sun. Beyond the shelters, a food truck road and the Mulgeum-eup Saemaeul Women’s Association restaurant will offer a variety of foods. As in previous years, a beautiful night cherry blossom path decorated with scenic lights will be operated under the Hwangsan Overpass, and local participation programs such as a receipt stamp tour will take place during the festival.
On the opening day, the 29th, the main stage at Munju Square will feature a pre-ceremony performance reinterpreting Yangsan’s historical figures with the Samjangsu Gisang Dance and a performance by the Yangsan City Choir. After the opening declaration, invited singers will give celebratory performances.
The celebratory performances will be divided into two parts: Part 1 will feature Kim Yongim, Shin Sung, Choi Jeonseol, and Park Seongwoo with exciting performances, while Part 2 will present stages filled with the spirit of spring by Na Yoonkwon, Ken (VIXX), and HYNN (Park Hyewon).
Moreover, this year’s main stage will host so-called family healing performances for families with children. On the first day, the 29th, ‘Pinkfong and Tuntun Teacher’s Dance Party’ will be held at 3:00 p.m., and on the second day, the 30th, ‘Robocar Poli Singalong Show’ will take place starting at 2:30 p.m.
For the festival, the cherry blossom path at Hwangsan Park (Mulgeum Seobu Underpass to Hwangsan Camping Site section along Nakdong-ro) will temporarily prohibit vehicle access and be operated exclusively for pedestrians. The vehicle control period will be from 2:00 p.m. on March 28 to midnight on April 3.
Prior to the festival, on the 26th, Yangsan City will conduct an internal on-site briefing to thoroughly check preparations and safety measures. On the day before the festival, the 28th, a joint on-site inspection with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Gyeongnam Province will be held to re-examine any potential safety hazards and ensure thorough safety measures.
Mayor Na Dongyeon said, “This year, we will splendidly decorate the newly constructed outdoor stage at Munju Square by the Mulgeum Seobu Underpass and use it as the festival’s main stage, turning the wide field behind the stage into festival grounds full of attractions and activities. We will do our best to make this a healing festival where citizens and tourists visiting Hwangsan Park can fully enjoy the spring outing atmosphere.”
