Jeollanam-do Launches Pilot Projects in Damyang, Yeongam, and Yeonggwang
Aims to Expand to All Cities and Counties by 2026

Jeollanam-do will officially launch the “Jeonnam-type Integrated Care Pilot Project” to prepare for the effective implementation of the “Integrated Care Support Act,” which is set to take effect in March 2026, and to lay the foundation for expansion to all cities and counties in the province.
The Jeonnam-type Integrated Care Pilot Project will provide 270 million KRW to three cities and counties. It aims to integrate and connect care resources such as medical and nursing services, so that seniors who have difficulty with daily life can continue to live healthy lives in their own homes.
Through a public competition among cities and counties, Jeollanam-do has selected Damyang, Yeongam, and Yeonggwang as pilot regions for the Jeonnam-type integrated care. By providing care services tailored to rural and fishing communities based on their geographic characteristics, the province plans to establish a proactive integrated care system.
The main target group for these services is seniors aged 75 and older who have high medical and care needs. The project will focus on home-visit medical services, support for patients returning home after discharge, and local government-specialized services.
A variety of daily living support services necessary for community residence, such as housing support, home-visit health management, mobility, and meal support, will also be provided in an integrated manner.
Starting in April, Jeollanam-do will ensure the pilot project is implemented effectively by providing consulting from experts and holding meetings to support everything from establishing the overall execution plan to operation.
Lee Sangsim, Director of Health and Welfare at Jeollanam-do, said, “Going forward, we will establish a basic integrated care model that reflects the characteristics of Jeollanam-do and actively support seniors in need of care so they can enjoy a healthy old age in their own homes.”
Jeollanam-do plans to establish a “Jeonnam-type Integrated Care” system that provides various services such as medical care, nursing, and care in a one-stop manner in line with government policy directions, and to operate it in all cities and counties from 2026.
