This project aims to provide practical support to young artists who wish to work in the region, create an environment conducive to artistic creation, and contribute to the revitalization of local culture and the arts.

◆ Applications open until April 7... A total of 5 individuals (or teams) to be selected

The call is open to young artists or teams under the age of 39 who currently reside in Gumi or have previous residency experience in the city. The eligible fields are performing arts, visual arts, and genre convergence (performing + visual arts). After a review process, a total of 5 individuals (or teams) will be selected.

The final selected young artists (or teams) will receive a grant of 3 million KRW to support their creative activities, as well as a variety of growth programs including capacity-building education, expert consulting, exchanges with artists from other regions, and opportunities for exhibitions and performances outside of Gumi.

◆ Expanding the creative foundation... Expectations for the development of local arts and culture

This project focuses on supporting young artists in building a foundation for creation and enabling them to continue their activities sustainably.

In particular, the plan is to create an environment where local artists can broaden their artistic horizons through exchanges with outsiders and attempt various collaborations.

Lee Hanseok, CEO of the Gumi Cultural Foundation, stated, “We hope that this project will enable young artists to continue their creative activities more stably,” adding, “We will spare no effort to support creative artists in realizing their dreams in Gumi.”

Young artists wishing to apply for the project can check the announcement on the Gumi Cultural Foundation website and submit their application via email, mail, or in person. The application deadline is April 7.
