Iksan City Completes Enrollment in Citizen Bicycle Insurance

Coverage Until March 1 Next Year
Maximum Limit of 30 Million KRW

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province has completed enrollment in bicycle insurance to help citizens use bicycles safely.


According to the city on the 21st, the bicycle insurance coverage period lasts until March 1 of next year, and all citizens registered as residents in Iksan (including registered foreign nationals) are automatically enrolled without any separate application.

The coverage applies anywhere nationwide and provides protection not only while riding a bicycle but also in cases of collision with a bicycle while boarding or walking.


The main coverage includes: ▲ 13 million KRW for death ▲ up to 13 million KRW for permanent disability ▲ 300,000 to 700,000 KRW for diagnosis compensation ▲ up to 20 million KRW for fines ▲ up to 2 million KRW for attorney fees ▲ up to 30 million KRW for traffic accident settlement support.


Insurance claims can be made within three years of the accident date, and should be filed through the insurance company's customer service center. For more details, contact the insurance company’s customer service center or the Road Management Division.


A city official stated, "We have enrolled in insurance so that citizens can use bicycles more safely in line with the promotion of bicycle use," and added, "We hope this helps reduce the economic and psychological burden on citizens from unexpected accidents."
