Jeonnam Province Focuses Administrative Efforts on Boosting Economy for Businesses and Residents Jeonnam Provincial Government Office Building View

On the 21st, Jeollanam-do held a ‘2025 First Half Central Regulation Improvement Task Discovery Briefing’ at the provincial government office, where they identified a total of 43 improvement tasks that act as obstacles to local development, corporate growth, and residents’ economic activities, as well as cause inconveniences in daily life, and discussed solutions to address them.

During the meeting, 16 tasks related to enhancing residents’ convenience and welfare were presented, including: ▲Not enforcing speed limits during late-night hours in school zones ▲Extending the parental leave period for single-parent families from 18 to 29 months ▲Simplifying procedures and establishing special supply standards for the Jeonnam-style Manwon Housing Project.

Additionally, tasks requiring institutional improvements were reported, such as easing regulations on activity restrictions in agricultural promotion areas, water source protection zones, and water resource protection zones; introducing national funding for the construction of local maritime bridges (connecting bridges and island bridges) and aging industrial complexes; and relaxing requirements for national funding for the maintenance of access roads to national industrial complexes.

Once Jeollanam-do submits the identified tasks to the central government, the relevant ministries will respond within the first half of the year on whether improvements will be accepted. Based on the ministries’ review results, Jeollanam-do plans to continue pursuing improvements, including developing counterarguments for tasks not accepted for improvement.
