Democratic Party Supreme Council Meeting on the 21st
"Han Duck-soo Before Yoon? The Public Will Not Accept This"
To Choi: "Do Not Be Stubborn, Uphold the Constitutional Order"
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed that he "cannot understand" why the impeachment ruling date for Prime Minister Han Duck-soo was set earlier than that for President Yoon Seok-yeol.

At the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 21st, Floor Leader Park said, "The ruling date for President Yoon Seok-yeol has not even been scheduled, yet the impeachment ruling for Prime Minister Han is set first. How many citizens would find this acceptable?" The Constitutional Court confirmed the impeachment trial ruling date for Prime Minister Han as the 24th.
Floor Leader Park stated, "President Yoon is a destroyer of the Constitution," adding, "It is obvious that the longer the dismissal is delayed, the exponentially greater the damage to the country and its people will be, so the public asks why the Constitutional Court is moving at a turtle's pace."
He continued, "We repeatedly urge the Constitutional Court to designate the ruling date immediately and fulfill its fundamental duty to uphold the constitutional order by dismissing President Yoon at the earliest possible date."
Criticism was also directed at Choi Sang-mok, acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance (hereafter Acting Prime Minister Choi). Floor Leader Park said, "We respected the Constitutional Court's decision and gave him the opportunity to fulfill his duty to uphold the Constitution, but Acting Prime Minister Choi ultimately refused," adding, "Those who abandon their duty to uphold the Constitution are unqualified as public officials."
He said, "Establishing the principle that anyone who violates the constitutional order will be punished is the way to restore the constitutional order that was destroyed by the December 3 uprising," and added, "I hope they do not cowardly run away but face the judgment of the law."
Finally, he emphasized, "I urge them not to stubbornly say 'I will resign' before the people but to have the courage to uphold the Constitution according to the will of the people."
