Announcement of Satisfaction Survey Results on Housing Stability Support Project for Victims
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced the results of a satisfaction survey on the housing stability support project for victims of jeonse fraud, which has been implemented since 2024, on the 21st.
Paju City was the first in Gyeonggi Province to establish enforcement regulations to support victims of jeonse fraud and has been providing practical assistance to victims based on these regulations.
The satisfaction survey conducted on 57 victims who have received support since 2024 showed that the majority of victims responded positively. The results were 42% "very satisfied," 34% "satisfied," 16% "neutral," 5% "dissatisfied," and 3% "very dissatisfied," with 76% of victims rating the support project as satisfactory or higher.
Victims expressed positive feedback such as, "The support for litigation expenses from Paju City was a great help," and "Thanks to the kind counseling and additional support from Paju City, I received much comfort and gained the courage to start over." This is interpreted as the result of Paju City’s continuous operation of various support projects to help victims of jeonse fraud quickly secure stable housing environments.
Paju City operates a wide range of housing stability support projects for jeonse victims, including the "Jeonse Deposit Return Guarantee Fee" to encourage guarantee subscription when moving into new jeonse housing, "Monthly Rent Support" provided to victim households who moved to private monthly rental housing, and "Litigation Expense Support" for victims who have taken legal steps to recover their jeonse deposits.
Bae Seong-jin, Director of the Housing Division, stated, "Paju City will continue its active efforts to resolve the issue of jeonse fraud and will maintain support in 2025 to help victims return to normal residential life."
