City Buses Run Within Olympic Park Foret On Complex

Route 3323 to Operate from the 28th
Four New Bus Stops on Myeongillo Inside the Complex

Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 21st that the route of city bus number 3323 has been changed, and starting from the first bus on the 28th of this month, it will pass through the Olympic Park Foreon complex.

City bus route 3323 directly connects Olympic Park Foreon in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu with Jamsil Station on Line 2, Jungang Veterans Hospital Station on Line 9, Dunchon Oryun Station, and other locations.

The district anticipated a significant increase in commuting traffic demand upon the occupancy of Olympic Park Foreon and has been continuously monitoring bus operation conditions since the reconstruction process, maintaining ongoing consultations with related organizations such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Dunchon Jugong Reconstruction Association.

As a result, in August last year, the turnaround point of route 3323, which was previously Jungang Veterans Hospital Station, was extended to Jamsil Pier via Jamsil Station, and the number of buses was increased (from 8 to 15). The official route passing through Myeongillo within the Olympic Park Foreon complex was also confirmed in advance.

At the time of confirming the official route, construction was ongoing inside and outside the complex, so the bus operated on a temporary route passing through nearby Dongnam-ro. With the completion and occupancy of Olympic Park Foreon, the official route operation will begin on the 28th of this month.

Gangdong-gu stated, “With this official route operation, residents will be able to use public transportation connecting directly from inside the complex to Jamsil in one trip, and it will also reduce the congestion inside buses on existing Jamsil-connected routes, city buses 3412 and 3413, greatly improving the convenience of public transportation use.” Additionally, the official route of bus 3323 includes the establishment of four new bus stops in the Myeongillo section.

The district plans to actively present local opinions, including proposals for new routes, adjustments, and increases in the number of buses, to ensure that Gangdong-gu’s bus demand is reflected in the comprehensive city bus route system overhaul service currently being promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

In this regard, Mayor Lee Soo-hee visited Olympic Park Foreon on the 20th of last month to directly inspect the current bus congestion and traffic conditions, reviewing the situation on-site together with related departments.

Mayor Lee Soo-hee stated, “We will continue to strive to improve the convenience of public transportation for residents and to build a dense transportation network.”
