"Effect of Trump's Trade Policy"
Hyundai, LG, and Samsung Mentioned Again on the 10th
The White House announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for 'Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America,' scheduled to be held later this month in Georgia, USA, is a success story of President Donald Trump's trade policy.
On the 20th (local time), the White House introduced this in a press release titled "President Trump is making the United States a global manufacturing superpower."
The White House highlighted investments in artificial intelligence (AI) by OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, as well as investment plans by Apple, Taiwan, TSMC, and Nvidia, promoting these as part of the "Trump Manufacturing Renaissance." Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, recently stated in an interview with the UK's Financial Times (FT), "Over the next four years, we will procure approximately $500 billion worth of semiconductors and electronic equipment, and among these, products worth hundreds of billions of dollars will be manufactured within the United States."
The White House mentioned that under President Trump's America First trade policy, investments by not only technology companies but also other businesses are continuing in the United States, citing Hyundai Motor. It added, "Hyundai Motor also plans to promote localization of production within the United States."
Earlier, on the 10th, the White House also mentioned Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, and Samsung Electronics, promoting that foreign companies are expanding their production facilities in the United States due to the Trump administration's tariff policies. Since his inauguration on January 20, President Trump has repeatedly stated that imposing tariffs worldwide encourages production within the United States to avoid tariffs.
