Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, participated in the "Population Issue Awareness Relay Campaign" on the morning of March 20 to spread social consensus on the issues of population decline and aging.
This campaign is jointly planned by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare, and is being promoted under the theme "Let’s strive to make Korea a place where children are happy, youth nurture hope, and the elderly find fulfillment," aiming to raise social interest in changes in population structure.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, joined the campaign upon being nominated by Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak District Office.
Mayor Choi Ho-gwon stated, "Yeongdeungpo District is currently operating various projects such as the Singil Family Happiness Town, Yeongdeungpo Youth Growth School, and the Caregiver Family Rest System to respond to changes in population structure," adding, "We will continue to strive to prepare customized policies for each generation."
Mayor Choi nominated Jeong Seon-hee, Chairperson of the Yeongdeungpo District Council, and Yoo Ok-jun, CEO of the Yeongdeungpo Future Education Foundation, as the next participants.
