Jeju Museum of Art is holding the 2025 Art Jeju exhibition "Whisper" by Hyun Yoojeong at the 1 Pyeong Art Museum of Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art until September 14.
Since 2021, Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art has been operating "Art Jeju," an audience-participatory exhibition utilizing outdoor idle spaces, introducing the diversity of contemporary art and the creative worlds of artists.
Artist Hyun Yoojeong is gaining attention for her unique approach of visually expressing inner emotions.
By using animation techniques, she presents scenes that cross between dreams and reality, offering audiences a variety of sensory experiences. The diverse emotional expressions in her works?such as longing, loss, and emotional recovery?invite viewers to reflect on various human situations and experience processes of healing and restoration within them.
The main piece of this exhibition, "Whisper," is combined with the song "Whisper" by the indie rock band Sininryu, who are active in the performing arts scene, to deliver the process of expanding inner emotions to the audience through both sight and sound. The auditory stimulation of the music, along with the colors, forms, and various movements of the animation, further deepen the emotional experience.
The artist presents new possibilities for sensory stimulation and artistic expression through this fusion of media.
