Former leader of the Joguk Innovation Party, Jo Guk, has begun performing 108 prostrations daily in prison, urging the dismissal of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

Hwang Hyun-seon, Secretary General of the Joguk Innovation Party, stated on Facebook on the 20th, "I visited former leader Jo today," adding, "He has started doing 108 prostrations a day to join the relay of 10,000 prostrations (Samboilbae) involving party members calling for President Yoon Seok-yeol's dismissal."

Secretary General Hwang said, "As a Buddhist, former leader Jo's 108 prostrations in prison are added prayers, earnestly hoping that President Yoon's dismissal will happen as soon as possible," and added, "Whether in the square or in a small solitary cell, the people's wishes will surely raise the fallen nation."

Meanwhile, former leader Jo was indicted last December on charges including his children's admission fraud and covering up Blue House inspections, sentenced to two years in prison, and was incarcerated at Seoul Detention Center before being transferred to the Southern Prison in January.
