Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the homes of beneficiaries of the ‘Sangam Sarangeum’ housing environment improvement project on the afternoon of the 19th at 3 PM, together with the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group from Sangam-dong, providing services such as laundry and housing environment improvements.
The Silppuri Welfare Companion Group is a specialized project unique to Mapo, launched in November 2024 to provide welfare that deeply permeates the lives of district residents like ‘silppuri’ (fine roots), making welfare tangible and felt. Each group, consisting of about 50 members per neighborhood, creates a welfare community where residents care for one another.
‘Sangam Sarangeum’ is a specialized project of the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group in Sangam-dong, conducting housing environment improvement projects, smart farm operation support, and filial piety meal support projects.
On this day, Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo District, along with 10 members of the Sangam-dong Silppuri Welfare Companion Group, visited single elderly households receiving National Basic Livelihood Security benefits to provide winter bedding laundry and housing improvement services.
Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo District said, “The silppuri must be strong for the main root to grow well, and the main root must be strong for beautiful flowers to bloom. There is also a saying that close neighbors are better than distant relatives,” adding, “The help of the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group will bind residents with ties stronger than blood and will become an important silppuri to blossom Mapo as the district with the highest happiness index.”
