For 200 Pet Owner Teams: Visit Tourist Attractions and Submit Proof
Taean County in Chungnam is attracting great attention and becoming a hot topic among pet owners by presenting special tourism content to enjoy with pets in celebration of the "2025 Taean Year of Visit." /Taean County
Taean County in South Chungcheong Province is attracting attention from pet owners by introducing special tourism content for “2025 Visit Taean Year” that allows visitors to travel with their pets.
The county will run the “Petness (Pet+Wellness) Taean Mission Tour,” which supports part of the expenses for 200 teams of tourists traveling with pets to Taean between March and June when visiting major tourist attractions. Applications for the first round of trips (March 23 to April 28) will be accepted from the 21st to April 18.
The main feature of the program is that visitors traveling around Taean with their dogs can receive up to 100,000 KRW per team (based on a one-night, two-day trip) in reimbursement after verifying visits to pet-friendly tourist attractions, accommodations, cafes, and more.
The program is open to pre-registered travelers from other regions who visit Taean for at least one night and two days. To participate, teams must complete three missions: visit at least one pet-friendly tourist attraction, visit at least two pet-friendly accommodations, cafes, or experience spaces, and share certified photos and a review on social media.
After completing the trip, participants must upload their posts to social media and submit proof of expenses within seven days to receive the mission reimbursement. The social media post must include at least two photos featuring all team members and their pets.
However, if the overnight stay falls on a Saturday during a one-night, two-day trip, the team will not be eligible for support. Accommodation expenses are reimbursed up to 80,000 KRW, and purchases such as alcoholic beverages and home appliances are not eligible for reimbursement.
The first round of applications is open to those traveling in March and April. Interested pet owners can check the details and apply on the Petness Taean website or the “Handalsallo” website by April 18.
If the 200-team limit is reached during the first application period, the second round (June) will not be held. Applicants will be individually notified after confirmation and selection, and the reimbursement will be provided within 10 days of application.
A county official stated, “We are operating this mission tour program to attract new and returning tourists with pets for Visit Taean Year,” and added, “We hope you create happy memories with your pets in Taean, the city of beautiful flowers and the sea.”
