Chairman Lei Jun revealed this experiment to promote Xiaomi's latest electric sedan SU7, which was launched at the end of last month. Xiaomi is known to have applied the coating technology used on the ball dropped from the rooftop to the bottom of the battery pack of the SU7 to prevent battery damage caused by impacts or scratches underneath the vehicle.

CEO Lei stated, "The watermelon surface is coated with bulletproof material, giving it tank-level defense," and claimed, "I dropped the watermelon three times in a row, and it remained intact each time."

He added, "The bulletproof-coated watermelon cannot be cut even with an axe," and explained, "The roads inside the Xiaomi automobile factory premises were cleared by employees in advance for the filming, so there is no need to worry."
