Group BLACKPINK's "Lovesick Girls" music video has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube, YG Entertainment announced on the 20th. It has been approximately 1,630 days since its release on October 2, 2020.
"Lovesick Girls" is a song featuring a country-style guitar sound with a lyrical melody and BLACKPINK's powerful vocals, with Jisoo and Jennie participating in the lyrics and composition. Upon its release, the song ranked 59th on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the global YouTube Songs Top 100 chart for two consecutive weeks. The music video was praised for showcasing the members' mature inner acting. The full-length album containing this track, "The Album," debuted at number 2 on both the US Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart, maintaining its position for 10 and 7 consecutive weeks respectively.
With this achievement, BLACKPINK now has a total of 13 videos with over 800 million views on YouTube. Previously, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" (2.2 billion views), "Kill This Love" (2 billion views), "How You Like That" performance video (1.8 billion views) and music video (1.3 billion views), "BOOMBAYAH" (1.7 billion views), "As If It's Your Last" (1.4 billion views), Lisa's solo song "MONEY" performance video (1 billion views), Jennie's solo song "SOLO" (1 billion views), "Pink Venom" (900 million views), "Ice Cream" (900 million views), "Whistle" (900 million views), and "Playing With Fire" (900 million views) have all reached similar view counts.
BLACKPINK has produced a total of 48 videos with over 100 million views on YouTube, with the cumulative views of these videos exceeding 38.2 billion. Their official YouTube channel currently has more than 96.1 million subscribers, holding the highest record worldwide among both men and women.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will kick off their "BLACKPINK 2025 WORLD TOUR" at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Gyeonggi on July 5 and 6. They will meet fans worldwide through a total of 18 shows in 10 cities, including four North American cities (Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York), four European cities (Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London), and Tokyo, Japan.
