Asan Mayor Candidate Oh Sehyun: "Only by Judging the People Power Party Can We Prevent a Second Martial Law"

Oh Sehyun, the Democratic Party candidate running in the upcoming by-election for Asan Mayor in South Chungcheong Province on the 2nd of next month, asserted on the 20th, "Only by judging the People Power Party can we prevent a second or third martial law."

He emphasized this point while holding a campaign launch event at Onyang Oncheon Station Square in the morning and appealing for support.

Candidate Oh stated, "This election is about judging the Yoon Sukyeol administration, which has committed treason, and its accomplice, the People Power Party," adding, "The People Power Party and former Mayor Park Kyunggui brought Asan City to a halt with lies and false information."

He continued, "People say elections are the yardstick of public sentiment. We must judge them decisively to prevent a second or third martial law," and sharply criticized, "What about former Mayor Park Kyunggui? It even led to people calling him the 'Yoon Sukyeol of Asan.'"

He went on to say, "He didn't even execute the budget he allocated himself, was only focused on appearances, and went on 12 overseas trips. I will quickly normalize and develop Asan City, which has been ruined by Yoon Sukyeol and Park Kyunggui. Please join hands with me," he appealed.

Prior to this, Moon Jinseok, a National Assembly member and head of the South Chungcheong Provincial Party, along with local representatives Bok Giwang and Kang Hunsik, and former South Chungcheong Governor Yang Seungjo, also came out in support.

Representative Moon Jinseok said, "There are eight Democratic Party lawmakers in South Chungcheong. Centered around Representatives Bok Giwang and Kang Hunsik, we will unite and help Asan develop," adding, "We must show the People Power Party, which caused this by-election and refuses to take responsibility, how powerful one citizen's vote can be."

Representative Bok Giwang also stated, "Our city has been the subject of ridicule nationwide for the most bizarre and unreasonable administration over the past three years," and pointed out, "Where does the responsibility lie? With the People Power Party that nominated the wrong candidate."

Representative Kang Hunsik said, "The former mayor spread false information, which means he lied, just like the president. I've never seen them work to develop the economy for the citizens, only busy spending taxpayers' money on events. We must end the fake administration and create a truthful one," he emphasized.

Former Governor Yang Seungjo argued, "The responsibility for this by-election lies with the People Power Party. They must be held accountable," and added, "Choosing the People Power Party, which produced the ringleader of treason, Yoon Sukyeol, is absurd. We must join hands and go to the polls to ensure the victory of democracy."

Meanwhile, the campaign launch event was attended by, among others, Jo Hanki, head of the Seosan-Taean regional committee, Shin Hyunseong, head of the Boryeong-Seocheon regional committee, city and provincial council members, and supporters.
