Signed MOU with Security System Company Suprema
Developing New Security Services Utilizing Robots
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are entering the unmanned building security business using robots.
On the 20th, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the "Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Total Security Solution Construction Project" with Suprema, a security system specialist company, at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, to expand the construction of robot-friendly buildings. Suprema, a domestic security system specialist, previously conducted robot-friendly building verification with Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Robotics Lab at Factorial Seongsu.

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia plan to create a robotics business model and expand the robot-friendly building business. Robot-friendly buildings focus on advancing infrastructure management technology within buildings to allow robots to move freely and organically linking this technology with robots. To this end, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are enhancing the "Robotics Total Solution" and developing verified technologies and services for customers who need robots, such as offices, general hospitals, and hotels.
Under this agreement, both companies will promote the development of security solutions that combine AI and robotics, as well as new security services utilizing robotics technology.
They will research and verify physical security technology using mobile platforms like Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Robotics Lab’s "Dali Delivery." By linking autonomous robots with existing physical security infrastructure systems, they plan to eliminate security blind spots and improve security quality.
Hyundongjin, Executive Director and Head of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Robotics Lab, said, "Robots and humans will overcome the limitations of building infrastructure to create convenient mobility and new spatial services, establishing a new industry standard." He added, "Robotics total services, especially those combining hardware, software, and AI technology, will overcome the limitations of existing static physical security and create new opportunities."
Kim Hancheol, CEO of Suprema, said, "It is meaningful to open a new era of unmanned security services combined with robotics," and added, "We plan to expand the scope to AI-based robot-friendly building security systems integrating cloud, robots, AI, various sensors, and on-site response solutions."
