Lotte Chilsung Beverage Expands Zero Sugar Lineup with Launch of 'Saero Darae'

'Saero Darae' with Korean Kiwi Fruit Juice Added

Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 20th that it will expand the lineup of its zero-sugar soju "Saero" by launching "Saero Darae" next month.


"Saero Darae" is a zero-sugar soju "Saero" with added domestic Korean kiwi fruit juice, which reduces the characteristic bitterness of soju and features the unique sweet and tangy flavor and light green color of kiwi. The alcohol content is 12 degrees, the same as the existing "Saero Salgu," and it is a regular distilled liquor. Darae, which appears in the Goryeo-era poem "Cheongsan Byeolgok," is a fruit that Koreans enjoyed in the past, and "Saero Darae" is expected to deliver a new taste rarely experienced in existing alcoholic beverages.

A representative from Lotte Chilsung Beverage said, "In line with the increasingly diverse drinking trends of consumers, we are introducing 'Saero Darae' following 'Saero Salgu,'" adding, "'Saero Darae' can be tasted first through the 'Saero Sulssang Dining' at the 'Saerodowon' pop-up store operating in Apgujeong Rodeo from the end of March, ahead of its full-scale sales in April."


Meanwhile, the zero-sugar soju "Saero," launched in September 2022, surpassed 100 million bottles in cumulative sales within about seven months of its release and exceeded 100 billion KRW in annual sales in 2023, establishing itself as a leader in the zero-sugar soju market.
