Yeongdeungpo-gu, Investigation of Specialized Construction Companies to Prevent Unqualified Construction Firms from Winning Contracts

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will conduct a field survey on the registration standards of specialized construction companies by the end of the year, striving to prevent unfair practices in the construction market and establish order.

The field survey on the registration standards for specialized construction companies targets specialized construction companies within the region notified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, investigating and verifying whether they meet the registration standards under the Framework Act on the Construction Industry.

The district collects documents such as financial statements, technical personnel status reports, and facility and equipment possession reports to review and conduct on-site inspections regarding compliance with the legally required number of technical personnel by industry, employment status, fulfillment of minimum capital requirements, and actual equipment possession status.

Companies found to be below the registration standards undergo a clarification process followed by administrative sanctions. In last year’s field survey, over 90% of the surveyed companies met the registration standards for specialized construction companies.

Information about specialized construction companies that receive administrative sanctions after the field survey will be disclosed on the district’s official website and the Construction Industry Knowledge Information System (KISCON).

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “Through this field survey, we will prevent construction companies that do not meet registration standards from winning contracts, establish fair order in the construction market, and manage the process so that sound companies do not suffer disadvantages.”
