Gwangju City to Declare 'Visit Gwangju Year' at Seoul Station on the 25th

Gwangju City to Declare 'Visit Gwangju Year' at Seoul Station on the 25th Gwangju City Hall exterior view.

The city of Gwangju announced on the 19th that it will hold the proclamation ceremony for the '2025 Visit Gwangju Year' at the Open Concert Hall in Seoul Station on the 25th.


The proclamation ceremony will be attended by more than 300 people, including Mayor Kang Gijung, officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other government agencies, Korea Railroad Corporation, Korea Tourism Organization, related organizations, tourism industry representatives, and the Gwangju Residents' Association in Seoul.


During the ceremony, the official slogan and brand identity (BI) for 'Visit Gwangju Year' will be unveiled, followed by a signing ceremony, promotional video screening, and various performances to showcase Gwangju's unique attractions.


The city has designated this year as 'the first year of Gwangju's leap as a tourism city where tourism becomes an industry' and plans to implement five major strategies and 14 action tasks for 'Visit Gwangju Year,' including: ▲Becoming a festival city with year-round enjoyment ▲Offering bold tourism products and groundbreaking promotions ▲Expanding visitor-centered tourism infrastructure ▲Creating a boom for the Visit Year ▲Strategic marketing.


In particular, through the Visit Gwangju Year, the city aims to revitalize the local economy and expand the local consumption base by leveraging Gwangju's strengths in culture, arts, and sports.

After the proclamation ceremony, a Visit Gwangju campaign will be held in the Seoul Station area, actively promoting Gwangju's charm by introducing major tourist attractions and specialized tourism products related to sports and Hangang writers.


The city will promote tourism activation and regional economic development through a variety of programs and year-round events for 'Visit Gwangju Year.'


Lee Seungkyu, Director of the New Vitality Promotion Headquarters, said, "The proclamation ceremony at Seoul Station on the 25th is intended to widely publicize the '2025 Visit Gwangju Year' and create a boom. We will thoroughly prepare so that many people can visit Gwangju and experience the region's unique charm."
