The candidates from both the ruling and opposition parties running in the upcoming by-election for Asan Mayor in Chungnam, scheduled for the 2nd of next month, will each hold campaign kick-off rallies at Onyang Oncheon Station Square on the 20th, pledging victory.


Oh Sehyun, the Democratic Party candidate, plans to hold an on-site election committee meeting at his campaign office at 10 a.m. on this day, together with Moon Jinseok, a National Assembly member and head of the Chungnam Provincial Party, as well as local National Assembly members Kang Hoonshik and Bok Giwang.


After opening remarks and the delivery of the pledge book, the committee meeting will transition to a closed session. At 11 a.m., they will move to Onyang Oncheon Station Square to hold the campaign kick-off rally.


From 1 p.m., Jeon Mangwon, the People Power Party candidate, will hold his own campaign kick-off rally.


At Jeon's rally, National Assembly members Na Kyungwon, Yoon Sanghyun, Jang Donghyuk, Kang Seungkyu, and Sung Iljong will attend and deliver opening remarks.


Meanwhile, official election campaigning begins on this day. Early voting will be held from the 28th to the 29th, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


The main vote will take place on the 2nd of next month from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., after which the ballots will be counted.
