Measures to Restrict Access to Violent and Sexually Explicit Content
Google YouTube is partnering with EBS and The PinkFong Company to develop high-quality content for teenagers. They have decided to restrict teenagers' access to harmful content and strengthen safety measures.

On the 19th, YouTube officially announced the launch of the 'Youth Digital Wellbeing Initiative' in collaboration with content companies and distributors representing 10 countries, including South Korea.
YouTube will work with a total of 17 companies and organizations, including South Korea's EBS and The PinkFong Company, to achieve a shared vision of developing high-quality content for teenagers.
To this end, products will be responsibly designed and content produced tailored to each country. They also aim to positively shape the online experiences of teenagers worldwide and raise overall industry standards.
YouTube stated, "We support the development and accessibility of high-quality content that is age-appropriate, beneficial, engaging, and inspiring."
They will also actively protect teenagers from harmful elements online. Age-appropriate defaults will be set to restrict teenagers' access to sexually explicit content or violent graphics.
In particular, when watching content that may include discussions on sensitive mental health topics such as suicide and self-harm, teenagers will be guided to crisis support resources.
Safety measures for teenagers will be strengthened by limiting exposure to potentially harmful and low-quality content. If necessary, settings and controls to support healthy device usage time for teenagers will also be activated.
Kim Yu-yeol, President of EBS, said, "We are pleased to be part of a global collaboration that provides trustworthy and age-appropriate content through the Youth Digital Wellbeing Agreement. We will do our best to help teenagers grow up in a healthy digital environment."
Kwon Bit-na, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of The PinkFong Company, said, "Through the agreement with YouTube, we will continue to collaborate with global industry leaders to ensure that children and teenagers can watch content and grow up in a safe digital environment."
