Namyangju City Council Urban Transportation Committee Reviews Council Member-Initiated Ordinance Proposals at the 310th Extraordinary Session

The Urban Transportation Committee of the Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Park Kyung-won) reviewed and approved as originally proposed a total of four member-initiated ordinances, including the partial amendment of the Namyangju City Building Ordinance, at the 310th extraordinary session on the 17th.

The partial amendment of the Namyangju City Building Ordinance, primarily proposed by Assemblyman Kim Ji-hoon (Guk), aims to clarify the installation standards for rural stay-type rest areas in accordance with the partial amendment of the 'Enforcement Rules of the Farmland Act' to prevent farmland damage and confusion at the site. It also seeks to ease regulations on rural stay-type rest areas to ensure minimum safety, while allowing the installation of auxiliary facilities and temporary residence to enhance convenience.


Additionally, Assemblyman Kim Ji-hoon (Min) proposed the partial amendment of the Namyangju City Ordinance on the Promotion of Mobility Convenience for the Transportation Vulnerable as the main proposer to practically guarantee the mobility rights of transportation vulnerable groups. The amendment includes adding individuals accompanied by infants and young children to the list of eligible users of vehicles other than special transportation means, reflecting revisions in higher-level laws, specifying education targets for transportation operators and taxi drivers, and partially revising the education content.


Assemblyman Park Kyung-won proposed the partial amendment of the Namyangju City Taxi Shelter Operation and Management Ordinance as the main proposer, introducing a provision that sets the lease fee rate for taxi shelters at no less than 10 per 1,000 of the assessed property price annually, aiming to improve the welfare of taxi drivers and enhance their working environment.


Assemblyman Kim Sang-soo proposed the partial amendment of the Namyangju City Water Supply Ordinance as the main proposer, which includes improving the system of advance notice for water service suspension due to unpaid water bills, strengthening the protection of personal information of defaulters to safeguard citizens' rights, and stipulating that personal information should not be exposed to the unspecified public when sending advance suspension notices.
