This meeting was organized to discuss ways to cooperate for regional economic development and support for local businesses.

During the meeting, regional issues were discussed such as the expansion of the Changwon Immigration Office, the designation of the Gadeokdo New Airport construction as a joint contract project, joint research on ordinances related to Gyeongsangnam-do businesses and industries, and the construction of an aerospace complex city.

The Gyeongnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council requested policy support to resolve major difficulties faced by local businesses at the meeting. In particular, they emphasized the need to expand the organization of the Changwon Immigration Office and to simplify administrative procedures to secure foreign workers.

Additionally, they requested amendments to ordinances and administrative support to enable local construction companies to participate in large-scale national projects such as the Gadeok New Airport. They also proposed measures to provide incentives for expanding subcontracting rates and fostering general construction companies to strengthen the competitiveness of local construction firms.

The Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council decided to submit a proposal to the central government to resolve issues related to the issuance of visas for foreign workers and to review administrative support to expand the participation of local construction companies in large-scale projects such as the Gadeok New Airport. Furthermore, they discussed efforts to expand subcontracting rates to protect local construction firms, strengthening support for the shipbuilding and defense industries, and preparing policy measures to prevent the outflow of local companies.

Chairman Heo Dongwon said, "Through this meeting, we were able to once again confirm the practical issues faced by local businesses," and added, "At the council level, we will prepare practical support measures for revitalizing the regional economy and do our best to resolve business difficulties through cooperation with relevant institutions."

Chairman Choi Jaeho stated, "Cooperation with the provincial council is more important than ever to resolve the difficulties of businesses in the Gyeongnam region and to improve the business environment," and added, "We will continue to cooperate on issues that directly affect regional economic development, such as the Gadeokdo New Airport construction project and foreign worker issues."
