Hugel Co., Ltd. announced on the 17th that it has obtained the ISO 27001 certification, an international standard for information security management systems. This officially recognizes that Hugel has established a global-level information security system.

ISO 27001 is a certification jointly established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is a key indicator that verifies whether a company's information security management system meets international standards. The certification is granted after a strict evaluation of a total of 93 items across four areas: organizational, human, physical, and technical security.

During the certification process, Hugel met overall security management standards including information security policies, communication and operations, access control, and information security incident response. In particular, the company was highly evaluated for its continuous efforts in enhancing the company-wide security system, system improvements, and conducting regular security training and campaigns for employees.

A Hugel representative stated, "We are pleased to have our efforts to establish a global-level information security system recognized through obtaining the ISO 27001 certification. We will continue to do our best to become a safer and more trusted company based on continuous strengthening of our security management system."

Meanwhile, Hugel had previously obtained ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certifications simultaneously in March last year. With the addition of the ISO 27001 certification this time, the company is evaluated to have established excellent management systems that meet global standards not only in information security but also in environment and safety.
