Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program Expands Training to More Countries and Universities... Recruiting 340 Participants

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Future Generation Foundation are recruiting 340 participants for the ‘Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program,’ which offers study abroad opportunities at foreign universities, including those in the United States, until April 7.

The Gyeonggi Youth Ladder Program is a flagship youth policy of the 8th Gyeonggi Province administration that provides opportunities to young people who find it difficult to gain overseas study experience due to economic circumstances. Through this, it aims to bridge educational gaps and support diverse career development, helping youth challenge social mobility.

This year, Gyeonggi Province has expanded the study abroad opportunities from 9 universities in 5 countries to 12 universities in 8 countries. The number of recruits has also increased from 270 to 340. The participating universities include the University of Michigan, University at Buffalo, University of Washington, and UC Irvine in the United States; University of Sydney and University of Queensland in Australia; University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom; Peking University in China; National University of Singapore; University of British Columbia in Canada; Grenoble Alpes University in France; and University of Alcal? in Spain, totaling 12 universities. The study abroad program includes language classes, local cultural experiences, and self-directed team projects, with all participants receiving full financial support for the program costs.

Gyeonggi Province has added an ‘intensive residential interview’ to the existing three-stage selection process of document screening, personality test, and interview.

Before the overseas study program, during the period of basic local language classes and safety education for capacity building, the intensive residential interview will be conducted, and the final participants will be selected.

The program leader will be changed from a public official to an external expert to enhance the professionalism of local guidance.

Applications can be submitted through the online platform ‘Jobaba Apply (jobaba.net),’ and the final selection will be announced on May 21.
