This special journey, which ran from Daegok Station through Ilyeong Station to Uijeongbu Station, became more than just a means of transportation?it turned into a work of art, and passengers were deeply moved as they experienced moments where music and love coexisted.
The event was attended by Mayor Kang Su-hyun, City Council Chairman Yoon Chang-chul, city and provincial council members, local community leaders, and related senior officials, sharing a meaningful time together. Additionally, 15 couples (30 people) recruited nationwide participated as city tour attendees, creating an even more romantic atmosphere.
As the train, filled with excitement, departed, the passenger car quickly transformed into a small concert hall.
Talented musicians such as Kim Si-do, Noh Seul, and Ryu Hyun-sang took the stage, performing beloved masterpieces including Yoon Jong-shin’s "Highway Romance," Lee Sun-hee’s "Inyeon (Fate)," and Kim Sung-ho’s "Hoesang (Reminiscence)."
Passengers began clapping and moving to the rhythm of the flowing melodies, and as the songs reached their climax, enthusiastic cheers and exclamations erupted.
At the end of the final song, spontaneous encore requests poured in from all corners of the car, leading to an additional performance that further elevated the atmosphere, filling the entire carriage with emotion and energy.
On the day of the event, organizers ensured smooth execution of all processes including setting up filming equipment, posting posters, and distributing souvenirs, while also maintaining order and guiding entrances within the train for seamless progress during the performances.
The souvenirs provided to participants were composed of local specialties such as "Yangjugol Rice," adding an extra layer of uniqueness.
After the event, participants expressed their amazement, saying, "This is the first time we have experienced such a train journey," and "The musical performances unfolding as the train ran felt like scenes from a movie."
Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, "I planned this event with the hope that the Gyoeui Line would transform from a simple transportation means into a space where culture and emotion coexist," adding, "We will continue to offer unforgettable moments to citizens through various cultural programs."
