Wind Wave Advisory Issued for the Distant Sea off the West Coast of Jeollanam-do

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced on the 15th at 5 PM that a wind wave advisory will be issued for the southern sea off Jeju Island, and a strong wind advisory will be issued for Geomundo and Chodo.

A wind wave advisory is issued when winds of 14 m/s or more persist for over 3 hours at sea, or waves of 3 meters or higher are expected.

A wind wave warning is currently in effect for the eastern sea off Jeju Island, the inner distant sea southeast of Jeju Island, the outer distant sea south of Jeju Island, and the eastern distant sea in the southwestern part of the South Sea.

The strong wind advisory issued for Geomundo and Chodo is activated when wind speeds are predicted to exceed 14 m/s or gusts exceed 20 m/s. Typically, this causes roadside trees to sway and makes it difficult to use umbrellas.

A wind wave advisory is issued for the northern outer distant sea in the southern West Sea.

A wind wave advisory is issued when winds of 14 m/s or more persist for over 3 hours at sea, or waves of 3 meters or higher are expected.
