Park Seung-won, Mayor: "We Will Support Young Artists for Stable Activities"
The former 'Gwangmyeong Upcycle Art Center' in Gahak-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, has been transformed into a creative space for young artists.
On the 14th, Gwangmyeong City held the opening ceremony of the 'Gwangmyeong Youth Art Factory,' which was remodeled from the former 'Gwangmyeong Upcycle Art Center' located within the Gwangmyeong Resource Recovery Facility at 27 Gahak-dong, and began its operation.

This space was created to provide an environment where local young artists can freely continue various creative activities. The Gwangmyeong Youth Art Factory, opened by remodeling the vacant space left after the Upcycle Art Center moved to Haan-dong, is a two-story building with a total floor area of 450㎡. The operation is entrusted by the city to the Gwangmyeong Cultural Foundation.
The first floor serves as a shared space for creative activities and cultural exchange for local young artists, and any local artist under the age of 39 can rent the space. The foundation plans to operate open classes for citizens here as well. The second floor is a residency space for young artists. In February, three individuals moved into private rooms of 12㎡ each, and one art team moved into a 28㎡ group room.
Park Seung-won, mayor of Gwangmyeong City, said, "We will continue to support young artists so that they can freely pursue their artistic activities in a stable environment and interact with citizens."
