Collection and Inspection for Residual Pesticides and Heavy Metals
to Be Conducted from March 17 to 21
Ulsan City will conduct collection and inspection of agricultural products such as Naengi and Dallae, which see increased demand in the spring, from March 17 to 21 to ensure their safety.
The collection targets are 24 types of major spring agricultural products that are widely consumed and distributed or sold at large supermarkets and agricultural wholesale markets, including Naengi, Dallae, Ssuk, Dolnamul, Chwinamul, Durup, Meowi, Minari, Sebalnamul, Deodeok, and Bomdong.
The collected agricultural products will be tested by the Institute of Health and Environment for compliance with standards and specifications regarding residual pesticides and heavy metals.
If any agricultural products are found to be non-compliant as a result of the inspection, they will be promptly recalled and disposed of to block their distribution, and relevant actions such as reporting to the administrative authorities overseeing the producers will be taken.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "We will continue to thoroughly manage the safety of major seasonal agricultural products to provide safe food for citizens."
