Robot Delivery Service at Chungju Headquarters
Beverage Delivery from Cafe to Office
Hyundai Elevator is accelerating the commercialization of elevator and robot integrated services.
On the 14th, Hyundai Elevator announced the official launch of a service that delivers beverages and snacks through robots at the cafe on the first floor of its headquarters in Chungju. By using a dedicated app installed on their mobile phones to order desired products, robot delivery is made directly to individual desks within offices on each floor.
Hyundai Elevator explained that it achieved various results during a two-week trial operation. The time spent waiting in line at the cafe has decreased. Employees were satisfied with receiving beverages comfortably at their seats or in meeting rooms.
Hyundai Elevator plans to fully commercialize the service by leveraging its elevator-robot integration technology. Over 40 delivery robots are currently in service using Hyundai Elevator technology at multiple hospitals, hotels, banks, and more.
Additionally, it is signing business agreements with construction companies and robot manufacturers. It is reported that at some sales sites, through technical partnership agreements with Hyundai Elevator, various items are being delivered by robots from apartment community centers to individual households.
A Hyundai Elevator official stated, "For robot delivery, which had been limited to horizontal movement, integration with elevators is essential to expand into vertical movement. Since the elevator-robot integration technology has already reached the commercialization stage, we will provide a higher level of service."
