Review of 31 Agenda Items Including 17 Ordinance and Consent Bills
Enhancing Effectiveness Through On-Site Visits and Comparative Inspections
The Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province convened its 285th extraordinary session on the 13th, commencing a seven-day schedule of official council activities until the 19th.
During this session, the council plans to review a total of 31 agenda items, including 17 ordinance bills?7 of which were proposed by council members?and 3 consent bills.
Starting with the first plenary session, the standing committees will review ordinance and consent bills on the 14th.
Each standing committee will also conduct comparative site visits and field inspections to strengthen field-oriented legislative activities.
The Planning and Administration Committee is scheduled to visit the Gyeongju area on the 17th, while the Industry and Construction Committee will visit Ulsan Metropolitan City from the 17th to the 18th for comparative facility inspections.
The Culture and Environment Committee will inspect key issues at Yangpo Park Golf Course on the 13th and at the Daegyeong Line historical site on the 14th.
On the final day of the session, the 19th, the council will appoint the 2024 fiscal year settlement audit committee members and make final decisions on the agenda items reviewed by each standing committee.
Meanwhile, prior to the plenary session, council member Chu Eunhee made a five-minute free speech, suggesting to the executive body a policy to minimize single-use promotional items at various festivals and events in Gumi City.
Vice Chair Yang Jino stated in his opening remarks, "Just as the warm spring days bring joy and happiness, I hope the lives of all citizens are filled with the same, and I urge the executive body to make meticulous efforts to ensure the smooth progress of major projects."
