Donating 30 Million KRW Over Five Years
with an Annual Contribution of 6 Million KRW
The number of participants in 'Seogu Honors', the nation's first local government-led donor group in collaboration with the Community Chest of Korea, continues to increase in Seo-gu, Gwangju.
On the 13th, Seo-gu announced that it held a membership ceremony for Kim Junggyun, CEO of 'Hoetteuneun Maeul' in Kumho-dong, to join Seogu Honors.
CEO Kim pledged to donate 30 million KRW over five years, with an annual contribution of 6 million KRW.
With the philosophy that "Sharing is the beginning of becoming one," CEO Kim has been practicing neighborly love by consistently donating 1 million KRW every year since 2014 as a member of the One Family Sharing Division of the Seo-gu Community Security Council in Gwangju.
CEO Kim stated, "I decided to support in order to extend the neighborly love I have practiced so far to the vulnerable groups in the local community."
As the head of the Seo-gu branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association in Gwangju, CEO Kim is also taking the lead in improving hygiene standards in businesses, establishing a safe food culture, spreading the Good Store movement, and strengthening the cooperative network among local small business owners.
Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu District, said, "The practice of sharing by generous and warm-hearted people is becoming a pillar that supports Seo-gu even more firmly," and added, "Seogu Honors is serving as the foundation for strengthening the sense of solidarity in the local community and creating a virtuous cycle of sharing."
