Mokpo City to Give 100,000 Won Entrance Gift to Elementary School Freshmen

Applications accepted at local administrative welfare centers starting from the 20th
"Universal educational welfare... Easing the burden on parents"

Mokpo City, Jeonnam (Mayor Park Hongryul), will provide an entrance congratulatory grant for elementary school students to realize universal educational welfare and alleviate the financial burden of educational expenses for newly enrolled children.

According to the city on the 13th, all first-time elementary school entrants who have their resident registration in Mokpo City as of the 2025 school year entrance date are eligible for support, and 100,000 KRW will be provided regardless of household income.

The application period is from the 20th of this month to November 28th. Parents, guardians, or other protectors living with the enrolled child can apply by visiting the local administrative welfare center.

After eligibility is confirmed, the congratulatory grant will be provided via the Mokposarang Gift Certificate Card, a local currency, and can be used until the end of this year. The city has sent out notices to each school to ensure no eligible recipients are missed and plans to continue promoting the program through social networking services (SNS) and other channels.

Mayor Park Hongryul stated, "We hope that the entrance congratulatory grant will help realize educational welfare and reduce the financial burden on parents," adding, "We will continue to promote various educational support projects to create a happy educational environment."

Meanwhile, the Mokpo City elementary school entrance congratulatory grant system, first implemented in 2023, has been provided to a total of about 3,280 students over two years from 2023 to 2024, supporting children's new beginnings and dreams and contributing to Mokpo's growth as a prestigious educational city.
