Ulsan Office of Education Introduces Nation's First 'Cooperative Instructor Matching System'

Streamlining the Recruitment Process and Providing Immediate Support for Learning Gaps During Regular Classes

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education is introducing the "Cooperative Instructor Matching System" for the first time in the nation, aiming to systematically connect cooperative instructors with elementary and middle schools that wish to implement the two-teacher system per class.

The introduction of this matching system is designed to automate the recruitment and matching process for cooperative instructors, thereby reducing the administrative burden on schools and strengthening learning support.

Schools can alleviate the hassle of the cooperative instructor recruitment process, and instructor applicants can skip the cumbersome process of submitting documents and undergoing interviews for each school they are interested in. This enables effective support for both the schools and the cooperative instructor applicants.

The two-teacher system per class is a program in which a homeroom or subject teacher and a cooperative instructor conduct collaborative lessons together during regular classes for selected grades and subjects in elementary and middle schools.

Cooperative instructors provide immediate support to students who have difficulty learning during regular classes and offer customized education to students who require foundational academic support in reading, writing, and numeracy (Korean, English, and mathematics) subjects.

The recruitment of cooperative instructors targets applicants who meet certain requirements, such as holding an elementary or secondary teaching certificate or graduating from a four-year university.

Applications will be accepted through the Cooperative Instructor Matching System until the 19th, and final selections will be made after document screening and interviews. The system can also be accessed via the notification (popup) windows on the websites of all elementary and middle schools and the education (support) offices.

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education expects that the introduction of this system will simplify the cooperative instructor recruitment process and enable more effective foundational academic support in schools.

To strengthen the guarantee of basic academic skills, the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has established and is supporting a three-stage learning safety net: immediate support within regular classes, customized support for each school, and specialized support linked outside of school.

Superintendent Chun Changsoo stated, "By operating the Cooperative Instructor Matching System, we will reduce the administrative burden on schools and strengthen customized foundational academic support within regular classes to ensure that no student is left behind in learning."
