Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon is joining forces to impeach President Yoon Seok-yeol.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that Governor Kim Dong-yeon will give a special lecture at Chungnam National University in Daejeon on the morning of the 12th.
Governor Kim Dong-yeon's visit to Chungcheong this time is aimed at appealing for a ‘100% impeachment’ of President Yoon Seok-yeol, especially to the younger generation in the Chungcheong public sentiment, which has greatly influenced public opinion at critical moments.
Chungcheong, the heartland of the Republic of Korea, has been called the ‘barometer of public sentiment’ or the ‘weather vane of public opinion’ in the public opinion landscape.
Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for Gyeonggi Province, said, "Governor Kim Dong-yeon will focus on ‘gathering strength for impeachment’ through special lectures and other activities during this visit."
After finishing the special lecture at Chungcheong University on the 12th, Governor Kim Dong-yeon plans to go up to Seoul and hold a one-person picket protest urging the impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol around Gwanghwamun.
Meanwhile, Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the ‘Joint National Rally of Five Opposition Parties to End the Rebellion and Protect Democratic Governance, Urging the Dismissal of Yoon Seok-yeol’ held in Seoul last weekend (the 8th), and conducted one-person picket protests during his commute for two consecutive days (the first day at Suwon Station Rodeo Street, the second day at Gwanggyo Central Station).
