Targeting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is recruiting companies to participate in the '2025 Jeonbuk-Type Smart Manufacturing Innovation Project,' which aims to accelerate the smart transformation of manufacturing sites.
According to the province on the 11th, this project is a program that supports the establishment of smart factories and manufacturing innovation for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the province. This year, the support types have been adjusted to reflect the needs of companies.
In particular, the JS2 (above basic) stage, which recorded a maximum competition rate of 10:1 last year, was preferred by 42% of companies responding to this year's preliminary demand survey. Accordingly, the recruitment scale has been expanded. The plan is to select 22 companies for JS1 (basic level), 45 companies for JS2 (above basic), and 4 companies for JS3 (above intermediate).
Prior to recruitment, to enhance understanding of the project and encourage participation, a project briefing session will be held on the 13th at The May Hotel in Jeonju, together with the Economic and Trade Promotion Agency, Credit Guarantee Foundation, and Food Safety Management Certification Institute. The session will include an announcement of the 2025 project and major changes, explanations of project procedures and application methods, and consultation booths for funding, technology, and HACCP certification.
Starting this year, cooperation with Samsung Electronics will be further strengthened, introducing not only existing professional technical support and market development but also new consulting services from environmental and disaster prevention experts. Through this, the plan is to prevent industrial accidents in advance and strengthen companies' safety management capabilities.
In addition, in connection with the Samsung Smart Factory Academy Jeonbuk Campus, smart factory education for employees of manufacturing companies in the province will be enhanced. Current and former experts from Samsung Electronics will provide direct education on everything from the basics to the master course of smart factories, waste reduction in manufacturing sites, and field innovation case studies, contributing to improving the capabilities of local companies in adopting and operating smart factories.
Applications for the project can be submitted online through the Smart Factory Project Management System from the 14th to the 18th of next month. Detailed information can be found on the websites of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Jeonbuk Technopark.
Shin Wonsik, Director of the Future Advanced Industry Bureau of Jeonbuk Province, said, "The Jeonbuk-Type Smart Manufacturing Innovation Project is not just about digital transformation of manufacturing sites, but a project that raises manufacturing competitiveness to the next level through on-site innovation. We hope that many companies in the province will take interest and apply for this year's recruitment."
