"I Want to Donate When My Life Ends," He Said During His Lifetime

"A Good Son and a Loving Father"
A man in his 40s who fell into a brain-dead state due to a traffic accident while returning from work gave the gift of new life through organ donation.

According to the donation agency, Mr. Im was hit by a car after falling at a crosswalk on his way home from work on the 21st of last month. Despite the medical staff's active treatment, he ultimately did not regain consciousness. It is known that during his lifetime, he often expressed his wish to donate organs to save other lives when his own life ended. Accordingly, his family conveyed his intention to donate organs in accordance with his wishes.
Mr. Im was born as the eldest son among two boys in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, and lived with a gentle personality, caring well for those around him. He was a warm-hearted person who would only start eating after seeing others eat first, even when his favorite food was in front of him. His family remembered him as a loving father who played well with his 9-year-old daughter Hyemin, and a good son who took his parents, who were unwell due to pulmonary fibrosis and other conditions, to the hospital.
Mr. Im's wife, Kang Young-mi, gave her final farewell, saying, "Hyemin's dad, you lived for others more than yourself here, so in heaven, do whatever you want and live well, and please watch over our Hyemin. I will take good care of your father and mother here and live happily with Hyemin. Let's meet again someday. I love you."
