"Constitutional Court Should Remove Yoon from Office Early"
Former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, who is on a hunger strike demanding the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, said, "I joined the hunger strike because there is no guarantee that impeachment will happen, so I thought I should contribute even a little strength."
Kim appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 11th and said, "(President Yoon's) release due to the cancellation of detention has already caused the stock market to fall, the exchange rate to soar, and the economy to deteriorate like this. If the impeachment is dismissed and he returns to the presidency, how will other countries view Korea? Such a thing must never happen."

He said, "I don't think the cancellation of detention happened simply," adding, "Forces around the president, including the Prosecutor General, especially far-right groups, united and launched an all-out battle, and this is the result. Will the Constitutional Court remain silent?" He continued, "For the constitutional justices to make the right decision, the people must unite their strength to overcome this pressure and enable a proper decision."
He also said, "This unprecedented situation where the president was released by a single court ruling is suspicious," adding, "Anyone can see that a situation difficult for the public to understand logically has occurred. Who would have imagined the president would be released?"
Regarding the opinion that President Yoon's return to the Hannam-dong residence could mark the start of 'residence politics,' he said, "Isn't it like the leader of a rebellion returning to incite and command another rebellion?" He added, "There are concerns and fears that a second rebellion might occur. During martial law, there was a term called 'rebellion-induced insomnia.' Recently, more people have been complaining of rebellion-induced insomnia."
Regarding President Yoon's actions, he said, "It is right for the Constitutional Court to impeach him early to prevent him from acting," adding, "The more the president moves, the more Korea becomes a mess and the national economy declines. It is inappropriate to predict or anticipate his next moves." He added, "(President Yoon) will be judged by the people regardless of his actions."
