LG Uplus President Hong Beom-sik's First Town Hall Meeting: "Creating an MWC Alumni Group... Increasing Communication Among Members"

Hong Beom-sik, President of LG Uplus, held his first town hall meeting to mark 100 days since his inauguration and engaged in communication with employees. At the town hall meeting held on the 10th at the Yongsan headquarters in Seoul, he conveyed that while he focused on business strategy planning during the first 100 days, he intends to increase dialogue with members and focus on enhancing execution going forward.

The event was held immediately after 'Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC2025),' where LG Uplus showcased its first standalone exhibition hall. He said, "I formed a peer group with employees who attended MWC2025 together," adding, "I will communicate in various combinations and share thoughts openly without formality."

The event was conducted in a format where President Hong led the 90-minute session himself without a separate moderator or script. He started with the words, "A CEO who has just been in office for 100 days greets the seniors," and created a comfortable atmosphere by showing photos from his youth 30 years ago.

Reflecting on his first 100 days in office, President Hong emphasized, "Motivation, Ability, and Trigger are important for the growth of both the company and the individual." He explained, "LG Uplus members already have the desire and capability for success, and my role as CEO is to create the trigger that unleashes this potential."

To this end, President Hong stated, "We will raise the standards to meet the heightened expectations of customers and focus investments on areas that can create customer delight," adding, "We will concentrate on quickly securing differentiated competitiveness through building a partnership ecosystem."

President Hong shared his definition and implementation method of a 'bright world.' He defined a bright world as ▲providing value that (better) customers need ▲offering differentiated experiences that (different) customers can be impressed by ▲providing participation and empathy to customers and partners (right). He said, "In the past, visions or goals like being number one were shared, but nowadays, purpose is more important," emphasizing, "For members, how much their work contributes to creating a bright world is a more important value than working at a number one company."

Regarding his new dream as CEO, President Hong said, "I want to be remembered as a CEO who contributed to helping members grow even a little more than yesterday," and added, "I want to develop LG Uplus employees into talents recognized anywhere."

On organizational culture, he pledged, "It takes 16 compliments to offset one negative comment," and promised, "I will lead by first smiling at employees and fostering a positive organizational culture."

Meanwhile, President Hong also shared mid- to long-term strategies to grow into the nation's number one telecommunications platform company. By adopting customer value creation, securing differentiated competitiveness, operational optimization, and quality, safety, and security as the four major management principles, he plans to execute detailed strategic tasks and build a solid foundation within three years.
