KGA, which is currently pursuing a merger with Samsung SPAC 9, is embarking on the development of a humanoid battery power system. On the 10th, KGA announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with U.S. companies Roboligent and Mobilerobotics to develop an integrated battery for AI humanoid robots.
Roboligent, a U.S. robotics startup, has been recognized for its advanced technology, receiving grants from the U.S. Department of Science and Technology and the U.S. Air Force. Through this collaboration, Roboligent will develop humanoid robot development and control system design, system integration (SI) technologies, and proceed with final product development and commercialization.
KGA will handle the supply of anode and cathode electrode plates, including customized battery manufacturing equipment, and support battery production process technologies. Mobilerobotics will be responsible for the manufacturing and support of structurally integrated batteries.
A KGA representative stated, "Unlike general robots, humanoids must perform various tasks, so many factors such as customized battery design, weight reduction, and miniaturization must be considered." He added, "Based on the technology and experience accumulated in the battery field, we will develop next-generation batteries optimized for humanoid battery power systems."
He further emphasized, "By cooperating with the two companies, we aim to secure a leading position in the rapidly growing humanoid battery power system market and establish ourselves as a key member of the domestic and international humanoid industry ecosystem."
KGA possesses a full lineup of electrode process equipment for next-generation battery manufacturing, including all-solid-state batteries. They provide customized equipment in a turnkey manner, from design based on custom engineering capabilities to manufacturing and supply.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system, the effectiveness of the securities registration statement submitted by KGA on the 7th for the merger listing with Samsung SPAC 9 has taken effect.
