The Gwangju Seobu Police Station announced on the 10th that Chief Superintendent Park Jongyeol has taken office as the 48th head of the Gwangju Seobu Police Station.
Chief Park, who graduated from the Korean National Police University and began his police career as a lieutenant in 1990, has previously served as the head of the Women and Youth Division at the Gwangju Police Agency, the chief of the 112 Integrated Security Situation Room, and the head of the Administration, Planning, and Information Equipment Division.
Chief Park stated, "I feel a strong sense of duty to be entrusted with the role of leading Seobu Police Station, the number one district for public security in Gwangju," and added, "I will focus all my efforts on creating a safe and happy Gwangju Seo-gu."
He continued, "I will ensure public safety that citizens can trust and protect freedom and human rights through strict and fair law enforcement."
