Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) will transform the snow removal vehicle base located at 5-1 Jeongja-dong, Bundang-gu into a sports facility for local residents.

On the 10th, Seongnam City signed a business agreement with HD Hyundai at the City Hall's first conference room to create sports facilities at the Jeongja-dong snow removal vehicle base. The signing ceremony was attended by Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering CEO Kim Sung-joon, and National Assembly member Kim Eun-hye.
Through this agreement, a site of 9,707㎡ owned by the city will be developed with a soccer field, tennis courts, parking lot, and green spaces, with all project costs fully covered by HD Hyundai.
According to the agreement, HD Hyundai will bear the costs necessary for relocating the snow removal vehicle base and constructing the sports facilities as part of its social contribution projects, while Seongnam City will manage and operate the facilities to support local residents in improving their health and enjoying leisure activities. The construction start and completion schedules will be determined later through detailed discussions between both parties.
Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, “I am very pleased that the site used as a snow removal vehicle base for the past 20 years will be reborn as a sports facility where citizens can freely exercise and enjoy themselves,” adding, “I deeply appreciate HD Hyundai for fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by leading the project and covering all costs.”
He continued, “This agreement will serve as a model case of corporate social contribution projects for revitalizing the local economy,” expressing his expectation for continued cooperation with HD Hyundai.
Kim Sung-joon, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, said, “This project is the largest community contribution initiative since HD Hyundai established its presence in Seongnam,” adding, “We feel great fulfillment in realizing what we have long considered for contributing to the local community by collaborating with the city.”
He also stated, “Going forward, HD Hyundai will continue to consider and implement ways to contribute to the local community together with Seongnam City.”
